Billy's Pot Pond
Built June 18, 2000

Pond fever.  Tub ponds.  Container ponds.  Patio ponds.  Pot ponds.  Whiskey barrels.  Wine barrels.  Flower pots.  Fill them with water, add a recirculating pump, fish, plants and everyone oohs and aahs.  Admit it, it's got that "fireplace" affect to it.  You sit there and stare at it for hours on end.  Pond people are not boring people, because once in a while you need to step back from the rest of the world and enjoy nature, even if you have to coax it a little and gather into one spot.  Yupper, I caught the bug just watching the rest of the world do it.

Get lots of help and ideas from friendly people on the Water Garden Forum where there is always a lot of conversation and plenty of pictures.  It's sponsored by WaterGardening.com.  Be sure to visit both links.

Pictures were taken with a Sony Mavica FD-83 digital camera.  Take digital stills or MPEG movies.  Complete with zoom and built-in flash.  Stores images on 3.5" 2HD floppy diskette.  No memory cards or cables to mess with.  Pop the disk out of the camera and into the computer.  Search on "sony mavica" to view the Sony cameras after clicking the image above.  (If the pictures appear too dark on our pages, turn up your monitor's brightness.)

I was even lucky enough to have a bird in a tree singing in the background on this, but I need
some work on my video technique.  The digital image gets grainy when the camera is moved.  Steven Spielberg has nothing to worry about.

The tour starts here.  Come see how I put this thing together.
